Lily Huang began her deep dive into Buddhism in 2019, attending her first meditation retreat at Spirit Rock right before the COVID shutdown began. She subsequently discovered Nonviolent Communication while exploring aspects of Wise Speech through the teachings of her mentor Oren Jay Sofer.Â
Lily's Dharma training has been primarily in the Early Buddhist tradition through Spirit Rock, Barre Center for Buddhist Studies, Insight Meditation Society, and Insight Meditation Center (IMC) - Redwood City. Her NVC training has been through courses taught by Oren Jay Sofer and Roxy Manning, including the 2022 Living Peace Retreat and Immersion in NVC.
Lily is the program manager and an NVC assistant for the Immersion in NVC program and a trainee in the IMC Dharma Leader Training Program. She has a background in primary care medicine for the uninsured, and is a wife and mother of two teenage daughters.
